Flooring

Substrate first, finish second.

Overview

Substrate preparation is where floors are made or lost. We take it seriously, then lay finishes that will still look right in twenty years.

A beautiful floor on a bad substrate fails in a season. We level, moisture-test and prime every base ourselves, and only then bring in the timber, stone or resin. The result is a floor with no lifted boards, no cracked stones and no dip at the door.

Answers

What clients ask.

Can we have herringbone with underfloor heating?

Yes. Engineered board and controlled water temperatures are the key.

Do you restore existing floors?

Yes. Sanding, filling, re-nailing and refinishing is a large part of our work.

How long before we can walk on it?

Timber: same day, careful. Stone: 48 hours after grouting. Resin: 24 hours foot traffic, 7 days heavy.
